The 2018 Ford Expedition SUV is a Beacon of Innovation

An overhaul has been a long time coming. After 21 years, Ford has gone ahead and redesigned its famed Expedition.

Packed with Technology

Naturally, this new release comes packed with many technological features to bring it into the modern world. You and your passengers will be able to connect to in-car WiFi as well as wirelessly charge your phones. Music and podcasts will sound great on the 12-speaker Premium Audio System by HARMAN, and passengers in the back can entertain themselves with the dual-headrest rear-seat entertainment system.

Plenty of Power

The sluggish and gas-hogging V8 of older Expeditions is being replaced with a more economical 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine. Mated with a 10-speed SelectShift automatic transmission with towing and hauling modes, the Expedition gets 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque on the standard trim. You can up that to 400 horsepower if you choose to upgrade to the Heavy-Duty Trailer Tow Package, which will also let you tow up to 9,300 lbs.

Plenty of Space

Since the Expedition is intended to be a family vehicle, you need a lot of space for passengers and cargo. With the third row, it can hold up to eight passengers at a time. However, if you choose to fold down this third row, you’ll gain an extra 20.9 cubic feet of space for a total storage capacity of 84.5 cubic feet. With the second row folded down as well, that gives you up to 104.6 cubic feet of extra space.

Of course, these are only a few of the Expedition’s highlights. Stop by Landers Ford to check out this SUV for yourself and see just how great the redesign really is.
